Recently thc NGO Section had been receiving numeruus inquiries regarding thc Association of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York with thc Departement  of Public Information ( DPI ). This organization applied for association with DPI in 1991 and was granted association in 1992. By accepting association with DPI, the organisation agreed to meet criteria for association, including suppert and respect of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and commitment and means to conduct effective information programmes with ist constituents and to a broader audience about UN activaties In October 2001, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York requestet termination of ist association with DPI. Following this request, the DPI has made decision to disassociate the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York as of 9. October 2001

In letzter Zeit bekam die NG0-Seklien ( Non Governmental Organization (Nichtstaatliche Organisationen zahlreiche Anfragen über die Assoziierung der Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York mit der Hauptabteilung Presse und Information ( (Departement of Public Information, DPI ). Diese Organisation reichte 1991) ein Beitrittsgesuch an DPI ein und 1992 wurde ihr die Assoziicrung gewährt. Indem sie die Assoziicrung mit DPI annahm erklärte sich die Organisation mit den Erfordernissen zur Assoziierung einverstanden, einschließlich mit der Unterstützung und Hochachtung der Grundsätze der Charta der Vereinten Nationen sowie der Verpflichtung und dem Einsatz der Mittel um ihren Unterstutzern und einem breiteren Publikum effektvolle Informationsprogramme über UN-Tätigkeiten zugänglich zu machen. Im Oktober 2001 bat die Watchtower Bible. and Tract Society of New York um Beendigung ihrer Assoziierung mit DPI. Wie erbeten traf dann DPI die Entscheidung, sieh ab 9 Oktober 2001 von der Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York zu trennen Wir schätzen Ihr Interesse für die Arbeit der Vereinten Nationen
